About Us
Christopher Cole and Shazia Yousaf are specialist Solicitors with over 20 years of combined experience of all areas of Immigration, Asylum and Nationality law.
Having had many years of experience running immigration departments within general solicitors’ firms, Christopher & Shazia felt the time was right to establish a specialist practice dealing with only Immigration, Asylum and Nationality law. The demand was there for specialist advice from expert solicitors and they felt that the best way of meeting that need and providing the highest quality service was through a specialist firm of solicitors. So in October 2007 Cole & Yousaf Solicitors was established.

Christopher & Shazia have a wealth of experience in handling all types of Immigration & Asylum matters. They have dealt with cases from initial application to appeal before Immigration Judges and they have particular expertise in Reconsideration before the Asylum & Immigration Tribunal, appeals to the Court of Appeal and applications for Judicial Review in the High Court.
Christopher was recommended in Chambers UK 2008 as a leading immigration practitioner. Chambers 2008 states “He primarily deals with complex matters and more difficult deportation cases...interviewees praise his 'frank and to-the-point' approach: 'He sees the wood from the trees and focuses on what is important.' ”
Chambers UK 2008 also states “Shazia Yousaf has particular experience of Somali cases, and her work includes successful appearances at the Court of Appeal level.”
Cole & Yousaf has now been recognised as a leading firm by Chambers UK 2010 who have ranked us in Band 1 for Immigration in the North of England. Christopher remains recommended as a leading immigration practitioner.
Christopher is a member of the Law Society’s Immigration Law Committee and Access to Justice Committee and also convenor of ILPA's Yorkshire & the North East Sub-Committee.
