Unmarried partner
People who are in a long-term relationship but are not married or in a civil partnership can make an application to come to the UK to join their partner. The requirements are similar to those for married couples and civil partners, but in addition it is necessary to show how long you have been living together. Unmarried and same sex partners need to show that they have been living together for two years in order to apply for entry clearance to come to the UK. They must also show that they intend to live together permanently and can be maintained and accommodated without recourse to public funds.
